2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Great collection of concert highlights from 1978 through 2007.

Not sure about that. This one really sucks!
The 1981 - Original vinyl...
Some tracks were originally recorded for "Some Girls" .
I always listen to the B side first as it is a lot more bluesy and like the Stones music I really enjoy.
1975 - Original vinyl...
I always find the 6th appropriate for a Sunday morning...

(July 24th 2016)
Recorded in Medicine Man at Wellcome Collection, London on 4th September 2015, as part of a collaboration with the Hubbub research project. Dedicated to the memory of Nick Mason (1989 - 2016): scientist and musician.
"Guitar but not guitar; synthesizers but not keyboards – Darkroom’s music starts with improvisation and a distinctive approach to sound design, followed by disciplined editing and stop-motion studio craft. By turns beautiful and beautifully ugly, theirs is a very human music that always sounds ‘played’ not ‘programmed’, despite the technology that's essential for producing it."

Bert, for me Sunday mornings can be best served with a rendition of Beethovens 7th Symphony - specifically the 2nd and 3rd movements... slowly picks you up and leaves you with a nice positive feeling to contemplate the week ahead...
I had a very enjoyable day round at J.N's house yesterday, with himself & Mr Foot Tapper. FT played this, which I forgot I had & so I'm giving it a spin.
I took round my copy of this on 2x45rpm vinyl. It's a fabulous recording and had the chaps scrabbling with iPads and mobiles to order their own copies -
FT's vinyl of this album was likewise superb -
...then we played some Yello "Toy", Runrig (not my cup of tea), Oscar Peterson and....other stuff.
Thanks for your excellent company chaps, to J.N. for the superlative refreshments, FT for the rather scrummy Portugese Belem tarts - I have instructed SWMBO to make me some.

Thanks for the tip, will give it a try in one of the coming weekends...
Listening to this on Tidal, while perhaps not the best reading of the pieces..., I bought it on Qobuz as it's a nice collection of similar pieces...
Very interesting piece of music...

The blueprint for Star Wars
One of my favourite Johnny Cash studio albums - and this has some great duets with his wife June Carter Cash.
Prompted by Simon. Just realised I have over 70 albums by Johnny spread over various HDD's and cd's.
Got this playing in the other room.
Ewemon - indeed another true unadulterated Cash album. A shame the title track 'Orange Blossom Special' recording is a bit crude and the reverb over done. The Dylan cover - sung with June Carter -' It Aint Me Babe' - is the start pick of the album
One of their best imo
ROLLING STONES Goat's Head Soup (1973 UK 10-track LP.
Vinyl.
Tom Petty - Anthology Through the Years. CD rip. Fab

Bought this Cd a couple of weeks ago, Bert. My goodness, what an incredible sounding album , both production wise (one of the best I've ever heard in this department) and vocally. Very highly recommended to forumites.
