2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Ouch! I'll have you know only the Beatles and The Rolling Stones have had more consecutive gold and platinum albums than the mighty Rush, but when you need to get down and dirty AC/DC are the boys to do it.

The SACD is even better sounding than the normal cd. Simply stunning
Damn this forum - what a great album. Another £2.36 down the Swanny.
I only have this one by Shelby Lynne which I have rarely played. Ought to dig it out.

Mind you, these aren't too shabby.
Japanese SHM - CD, 'cos they sound great ................LOUD!
Just a few tracks before bed, but this be getting a good play on my portable setup at work tomorrow.
Agreed Dave, although I prefer Led Zep II. In fact I prefer it next, also very loudly!

This is turning into LOUDNESS wars, if I crank it up another notch, you'll be able to hear it all the way from North Yorks.
'ang on, what's them blue flashing lights outside?
AC / DC - The Razor's Edge.
OK, OK, I give in ......................... LOUD.
Nighty night
Smithereens - Eleven.
Contains the best track Belinda Carlisles's ever performed on.

Came home from work this evening to find that the vinyl box set had arrived; managed to get halfway through it tonight. Bringing back some nice memories already....
Because I suddenly felt the need for a reggae version of "Breakfast in Bed" after Shelby Lynne's version.
Good album this one - track list below.

How's the SQ of your pressings? I heard some suffered of light warping and the recording lack a bit of "punch" in the mid range?
Last one tonight and a rather excellent greatest hits album by one of my fave live bands, A Hat Full of Rain by Del Amitri. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo

Not sure if it is lacking mid range particularly, but very bass heavy. No warping issues though.

I can concur that the ripped CDs are pretty bass heavy. I'm actually pleased I didn't shell out £60 for the vinyl
Bad Company. Straight Shooter. On original vinyl from 1975. My favorite album from the band.
A+ | Transcoded DSD
(2013)
Andromeda
The first EP length demo by the musicformessier project.
Green Day. 21st Century Breakdown. On CD from 2009. On its release I found this rock opera a bit of a let-down compared to its 2004 predecessor "American Idiot". After lots of listens the past few days I now find the two on par - both are quite brilliant.
John Mellencamp. Plain Spoken. On vinyl from 2014. A mix of American folk and laid-back rock with a notable roots blues infusion. Throw in T Bone Burnett's influence for a cuddly warm and tubey sonic signature. It all makes for a great musical excursion.
Ben Howard - Every Kingdom
Shift starts a bit later this sunlit morning, the chance to chill with some good music and coffee.
