What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Just listening into R.E.M. Automatic for the People, triggered by a discount action of Qobuz. So far I haven't been into R.E.M. - a mistake which I will correct later this week.....
Getting a proper listen of this today on my portable setup. Just finished Act 1 and onto Act 2. Very enjoyable and it must have been a fantastic show for anyone lucky enough to get tickets. SQ, as others have noted, is rather bass heavy and it reminds me of a typical Kate Bush album recording (no bad thing really) - rather warm and laid back.

(1973)
A virtual grab from the virtual library to give it an actual play.
Sampling Wadada Leo Smith's - America's National Parks.......as it's 20% off.....
Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love
Because I was playing EBTG "Acoustic" via Tidal (following an earlier post) which has a version of "Tougher than the rest"
and I thought I ought to give the Boss's original a spin. I'm not a big Springsteen aficionado but I do like this album ( and also "The Rising" among others)
1981 - Original vinyl...

Because Mgta make great black metal and this one is probably their best... and yes, there is growling.
On CD:-
Bruce Springsteen - Devils & Dust. 1995 CD rip.
While I'm in the mode - fairly stripped-down Springsteen, which I prefer to his more full on stuff.
LEONARD COHEN Field Commander Cohen Tour Of 1979.
This is a great sounding live recording of a concert I wish I had seen....CD
Switch to Jazz. Brian Blade - Landmarks . 2014. CD RIP. Come back to this one quite a lot - nice groove & expansive quintet sound.
Hungryhalibut posted:AC/DC Platinum Hits is something of an oxymoron, even more so than Rush's Greatest Hits, released on a CD single.
Kaiser Chiefs - Employment.
Why?
Well, they're the best of Leeds, and I'm simply trying to cast a lucky spell, before I sign off in an hour to watch the big footy match this evening.

(2006)
Highway Companion - Tom Petty
Nice stripped back acoustic and lyrics, an album that Jeff Lynne produced, something I had totally forgotten until reading the notes and hearing the Lynne "signature".
1982 - Original vinyl...
Best album of the trilogy(Discipline - Beat - Three of A Perfect Pair) and the same lineup which is rare.
Adrian Belew – electric guitar, lead vocals
Robert Fripp – electric guitar
Tony Levin – Bass
Bill Bruford – drums
Dire Straits - Communiqué. CD rip.
Calexico - Carried to Dust. CD rip.
Another great album by the Australian brother and sister duo.
Dixie Chicks - Takeing The Long Way, CD rip.
Kaiser Chiefs - Yours Truly, Angry Mob.
Sorry chaps, but we are playing the Scousers at the footy tonight, and this is something of a token lucky rabbit's foot.
The Mission, Another Fall From Grace on CD.
Liking this New Album a lot. An interesting review here; http://www.patchchordnews.com/...-another-fall-grace/
Possibly their best album in ages.
