Great review of the Stones latest in LA Times. the whole focus was on them being relaxed and raw one takes in the studio.  In the past they'd tried to mask the aging but now raw and direct, I've not heard it yet but will soon. I liked the ruined virility comment.

This isn’t a guitar-hero record with complicated, athletic soloing meant to showcase hard-won technique. Which isn’t to say the playing is unimpressive; it’s often amazing. But what the Stones are going for here is texture — a kind of ruined virility — and that’s true even when Eric Clapton, a.k.a. Mr. Technique, shows up for two songs, including Willie Dixon’s creeping “I Can’t Quit You Baby.” (Among the other tunes the band does are Dixon’s “Just Like I Treat You,” with a ragged beat from Charlie Watts, and the haunted “Little Rain” by Jimmy Reed.)

Heard 'To Build A Home' on Guy Garvey's 6 Music show last week, liked it a lot and bought the album. Ripped it earlier so it's getting its first play.

Chopin Mazurkas, Michelangelo on DG.

So many great performances of this material, but every time I hear this guy play just about anything he moves me. Lovely stuff.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Hypnotic Eye. On vinyl from 2014. This was released somewhere between the original Mudcrutch and Mudcrutch 2 albums. To me it sounds very much like a Mudcrutch 1.5 album. Fantastic and the vinyl SQ is far superior to the CD.

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(2014)

EP length ambient electronica (Cousin Silas) blended with the rock guitar of István Csarnogurszky.

A+ | Transcoded DSD

(May 2016)

Another EP length ambient album described from the blurb as;... "the stereo master of the original score for Adler Planetarium's new feature "Planet Nine". The music was initially made using modular and analog synthesis for use in the Grainger Sky Theater's incredibly sophisticated surround sound system. If you find yourself in Chicago, be sure to check it out."

Time for some Yello! I think Touch is possibly their best album since Baby? Anyone heard Toy yet?
