What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Not played this masterpiece for a while, probably my album of the year..
Playing the vinyl LP from the Goldfrapp Tales of Us deluxe box. Because it's bluddy brilliant!
1st run
This is Harry Maslin's 2010 of the Dame's classic 1976 album Station to Station from the Who Can I Be Now? vinyl box set. Interesting, not sure if it's an improvement, but certainly a viable alternative.

Joining in with a little Frappery and going with her debut album.
1st run...
"Arvo Pärt is a living national treasure to Estonia, and this album reveals such intimate access to his faith, sadness, and humility. Structured in five parts, Alina is a simple, chilling invocation of heartfelt desire comprised of only two movements that alternate with subtle variation."
Talk of cassette decks over on the Hi-Fi Corner board has prompted me to fire up the Nak and dig out some old tapes I made of I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, the long-running BBC Radio 4 panel show, and probably still the funniest thing on the wireless.
Right now I am listening to Rob Brydon singing the words of "Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr Hitler?" to the tune of The Carpenters' "Yesterday Once More". I'm crying with laughter....
Ben Watt - Fever Dream. CD rip.
One of my top 5 on Bert's current thread.

Definitely time for another of hers, this one downloaded originally as a 24/96 FLAC.
Joe Bonamassa - Sloe Gin.
Had this on in the car this morning, so, having returned home, why not?
For anyone wishing to get into Joe's music, this is a great place to start.............highly recommended.
A Pure Pleasure Records Reissue of the 1971 14-track stereo LP. Fantastic music wonderful SQ.
2008 - Portishead Box Set...
That's a great set (and album) Tony.

Thanks Kev. It's been already eight years and last time it took them eleven to release new material. Let's hope it doesn't take that long this time.
BTW, good luck choosing new speakers.
Ian Siegal & Jimbo Mathus - Wayward Sons.
A great live blues set from two guys at the top of their game ...................... have a listen.

Saw them headlining at Latitude last year, they were incredible (but no new material in the set). Cheers re the speaker quest...
Time for a bit of Bob(bie) before heading out - UK first press, Capitol 1971.
Doesn't impress me
Shearwater - Live on KEXP 2016
Terrific stuff, but if you're ahort of time check out Bachchannels (from Jet Plane And Oxbow). Brilliant, as is Jonathan Meiburg's voice.

Another excellent disc with the two Washingtons is Jan Lundgren's In New York:
Both trios are highly recommended.
