2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Because I'm not in the mood to watch the (excellent) movie again, so listening to the soundtrack will be just fine.
The film and this soundtrack are Desert Island stuff for me.
I'm like minded both the film and the music have haunted me (in a good way!) since 1982.
Not a bad song on this 18 track best of

Ewen,
Is it just my ears, or do some of the tracks (ripped CD version), appear to be in mono?
If so, this might explain the perceived poor SQ versus raw excitement of old, depending on which side of the fence one sits, re. The Stones.
So, it's either my imagination, or, if it truly is in mono, I'm just a bit slower to grasp what is obvious to everyone else.
Only been listening to it on my computer system at the moment . Will give it a closer listen tomorrow when I have more time Dave and let you know.
Soory Dave didn't manage to get a proper listen to it today as I babysitting my God Daughter who is 7 and when I put the album on I got told it was rubbish and could I take it off. SWMBO in the making.
Tord Gustavsen Trio - Changing Places
It's been a long shift. I'm not just necking a San Miguel as I cook, I've poured it into a glass first.
C.
The Blue Nile - A Walk Across The Rooftops.
Haven't played this in years, and it's as stunning this evening as when I first heard it.
NIghty night.

Oh dear, trust you managed to play something more appealing to a 7 year old SWMBO ................ some Chicago Blues, perhaps?
I love this, Bach as jazz. Sounds like it would be crap, but it isn't.
Jacques Loussier Trio - Vivaldi The Four Seasons
Inspired by HH, this is another Jazz interpretation of classical music that I have enjoyed for years.
If you like that, get this - Vivaldi on the accordion.
I was inspired to play this after reading on another forum that Scooter was playing a 24 bit version. Then I saw a couple of recent mentions on here too. Always a great sounding album. Spinning nicely on the LP12.
Dire Straits, Love Over Gold, I know it's a bit uncool to like these now, despite all their millions of sales over the years, but it's still damned good music so I don't really care. Flac via Audirvana/Hugo.

The greatest scifi film of all time, and the follow up film due out soon too, argh!
Richard Galliano, with an excellent trio.

A side project by Riverside's Mariusz Duda, this is his fourth solo album and serves up some great prog' rock, my favourite of his to date.

I'm just playing the same album - the first 24/192 music through my newly arrived SOtM and Meridian Explorer DAC!! I'm amazed how different it sounds (good different!)!!
Last one today. More Charles Lloyd - Canto. CD rip.
Otis Taylor - White African.
I know I said goodnight a couple of hours ago, but, having just listened, (again), to this album, I couldn't not get back on here, and yes, I have posted this one before.
For all fans of John Lee Hooker, whom he credits as a major influence, a stunning, atmospheric album, which will not leave any blues fans unmoved.
Available on Tidal, I seriously urge you all to have a listen..................this could just be the best blues album you've never heard.
Highly recommended.
On vinyl.
Suzanne Vega, Suzanne Vega, an album I've loved ever since the first day I heard it and still as good today as it was back then. Flac vi Audirvana/Hugo
Great '70's funk/rock, streaming via Tidal, with Zappa adding some sweet guitar solos. Am thinking about getting the 7 album vinyl box set covering his time with MPS.
