Back to an old favourite, the superb Spirit Of Eden. Every time i listen to this i think of Phill Brown's great account of recording this album in his book and how much work it took to make.

Had the opportunity of seeing Nerina perform her Xmas gig at the Tabernacle, London this evening but couldn't make it so I thought next best thing is to give one of her albums a spin.
This is a super new discovery for me, found on Qobuz, from the Italian Egea label.
Keith Jarrett recorded this album at in his home studio after a long period of illness.

I have been posting it here only for the last six years but as we say, better later than never. Egea has great recordings of Pieranunzi, Marc Johnson and Danilo Rea.
This is a very good British jazz album. We've seen David Newton live a few times and he is just brilliant.
My system is singing tonight and i've finally got here via quite a few albums.
Still a wonderful listen and i never tire of listening to this.

More of the same good stuff from these Swedish lads, just EP length with a couple of tracks,here.
The Beatles. Please Please Me (1963). Just did a back to back listen of the stereo and mono CD remasters of this album from 2009. Both are great for energy and drive. The mono balance is less distracting than the stereo channeling, but there is a greater heft and bounce to the bass lines that make the stereo more musical and tonally balanced to my ears.
A work day ahead, so need something 'live' with a bit of energy to get me moving this morning.
Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense
This is probably my favourite recording of these works - I just love Alina Ibragimova's playing.
