2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Lera Uaerbach: Twenty-Four Preludes for Violin and Piano - Vadim Gluzman (violin), Angela Yoffe (piano)
Lera Auerbach created her 24 Preludes in three settings if I'm not mistaken? That is, for the Violin/Piano, Cello/Piano, and piano solo. I am just hooked on this music. It is music that hits you at a personal level; it is very human at the core. It goes from wildly insane emotions to perverted children's lullabies that somehow throws a veil around innocence that we once knew or at least dreamed about. The innocence is there but it is just out of our reach. We can sense it but it is twisted just enough that we know it is gone forever - just a painful memory.
I love all three versions to death even though I somehow believe the Cello / Piano version is my favorite. Gluzman & Yoffe here are absolutely breathtaking in this recording. For some, Auerbach may be an acquired taste but for me it is music I cannot get enough of.
An oldie but greaty...
During my workout....
Bruce Springsteen. The Promise. On 2CD from 2010. Unreleased songs from the "Darkness On The Edge Of Town" sessions. Fantastic, accomplished takes from what is for me Bruce's most quintessential song writing era.
Good album - an interesting insight into the process of creating Darkness on The Edge of Town (my fav Bruce album). Some of the tracks so good you wonder how they missed the cut!

Just superb so it's getting another play. Why has it taken me so long to finally listen to his music...
Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker
1985 - Tidal...
Golden Earring - 50 Years Anniversary Album.
Following the love fest for BTO, another blast from the past.
Nobody owns up to liking "Radar Love", but when it pops up on the car radio, we all sing along, don't we?
2016 - Tidal...
Second listen. I agree with Kev(kevin-w). This is an exceedlinlgy good album despite the dodgy cover. With rings like those, I'd be wearing shades as well, mate.
Bon Iver - 22, A Million
Emily Portman - Coracle
Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes - Live at the Greek.
Fab live album, which re-captures the spirit of Zep.
Disc 13 from this excellent box set
On CD:-
Greg Lake - Greg Lake

To be honest James, I only had it on as "background" listening while dotting around the house doing stuff, but it didn't grab me like "just a little loving" does. This has a much fuller "soul" sound, which isn't really my thing at the moment. No doubt it'll get a few more runs tho. Cheers N.
Further exploration of the Charles Lloyd box set from Qobuz. Sounds like Jon Christensen is playing the drums in the room on this one. Great stuff.

After the horrors of Guildford traffic, a glass of Red and the soothing voice of the lovely Stacey Kent is lowering the blood pressure nicely...

Some Alvin Lee and the chaps to get the evening going.
After seeing him on Saturday, Howe is my new favourite thing. (I agree with Tony above though, it's a rubbish cover). On vinyl:
