What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XII)

2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
There have been a couple of posts recently of Sandy Denny albums. This one goes back to her early, pre-Fairport days. Even then it was clear that she had a special gift.
Try the 1st 2 tracks on side 2 (vinyl)
Jerry Joseph, Bret Mosley, Steve Drizos - "Charge" ep (2008)
2011 - Box set...
Eva Cassidy - Live at Blues Alley
Matt Deighton - "Part Of Your Life" (2009)
Very good and relaxing...
A+ | Tidal
Playing CD9 which is the Mono 1966 USA release of Aftermath, its sounding very cleaned up, hiss free and vibrant, luvin it.
Midge Ure - "Answers To Nothing" (2003)
"A Meeting by the River can best be described as a spontaneous outpouring of music, unhindered by convention or form, brought into being by musicians so supremely capable that the music is never labored, the technique of their craft always subservient to the final product. Cooder and Bhatt are genuine masters of the guitar and mohan vina, respectively. The latter, an instrument created by Bhatt himself, is a sort of hybrid between a guitar and a vichitra vina, and is played with a metal slide. This fact is just one of the many things that connect Bhatt's playing to Cooder's, who plays nothing but bottleneck guitar here. The musical interplay between Cooder and Bhatt is nothing short of astounding, especially so considering that they met for the first time only a half-hour before the recording of this album." This is a most beautiful / haunting album...

If you like that one, then you'll love this.
Ali Farka Toure with Ry Cooder - Talking Timbuktu.
A similar project from Ry, this time around featuring blues from Mali, which, after all, is where the blues came from originally.
A great listen.

On vinyl.
Another fine Piano Works disc featuring Danilo Rea on ACT:
Came across this at a Big Lots! store among all the Christmas CDs - only $5.
Had not heard of it and didn't know anything about it, but while a departure from his usual fare (especially up to that point - 1972) I rather like it.
A+ | Transcoded DSD
(2015)
Nice, fast paced instrumental rock from Eschar the boys from Woking.
Warren Zevon. Mr. Bad Example. On CD from 1991. Lyrically and musically brilliant and sinister. If you're a fan WZ the album title bespeaks the contents.

Never heard it, probably never will, but whenever I see this posted have to think what a brilliant, artistic cover shot?
just finishing:
Bob Dylan - "Good As I Been To You" (1992)
Next:
Jerry Joseph - "Jerry Joseph" (2013)
Not usual Music Room fodder but this is a rather good album - I bought it after hearing Beyonce perform one of the tracks 'Daddy Lessons' with the Dixie Chicks at the 2016 CMA (think it was being broadcast on R2 at the time) which sounded fantastic.
Beyonce - Lemonade
