2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.

Why? Fancied a bit of jazzy blues. (He's coming to the UK next year too.)

Only an early '80s black label RCA pressing, but it sounds pretty good now it's been for a spin in the RCM.

Never crossed my mind, Kev. Not for sale but I'm sure the one in your new mono box set sounds as good as.
This fantastic 1977 UK 9-track LP considered by many to be his comeback album.
1. Mannish Boy
2. Bus Driver
3. I Want To Be Loved
4. Jealous Hearted Man
5. I Can't Be Satified
6. The Blues Had A Baby And They Named It Rock And Roll
7. Deep Down In Florida
8. Crosseyed Cat
9. Little Girl
Produced by Johnny Winter; who took a more simple approach to the recording process, this album offers a pure, unashamed slice of Chicago blues - Waters doing what he does best. It is also one of the best sounding Blues records in my collection

Why? Sort of follows on from Robben Ford really.
When I think about it, I reckon this has been, over the years since I bought it (27/5/80 according to my inner sleeve note) my most played LP.

If you like that one, you owe it to yourself to have a listen to this.
Muddy "Mississippi" Waters Live.
Again with Johnny Winter on board, this is the best of Chicago Club Blues.
Available on Tidal.
Listening to Case / Lang / Veirs at work earlier reminded me that i must listen to this album when i got home. Somewhat later than expected, i'm now sat down listening to this...
A super album with some beautiful tracks and to me, K.D Lang at her very best in terms of music and voice.
K.D. Lang - Ingenue

I haven't played this one for a while. Out of the 7 albums i have from P J Harvey , this is my favourite. Not as dark or intense (or experimental) as some of the others (which i have to be in the right mood for) it's much more conventional. Thom Yorke guesting on a few tracks is the icing on the cake.
P J Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
Antonio Forcione & Sabina Sciubba - Meet Me in London
A rather lovely musical pairing and wonderful SQ.
Dammit - that's another one to add to the playlist and i need to be up early !
Christian Scott - Anthem. CD rip.
Eva Cassidy - Nightbird.
James, if you are not familiar with this you might want to add it to your playlist and as it is a double CD, could be a late night - it is wonderful.
Absolute tragedy that Eva is no longer with us. Her wonderful music lives on thank goodness.
Vinyl.

Thanks Nigel - luckily i don't have it otherwise it could be a very late one.
Amazon has now righted that wrong...
Cheers for the recommendation Nigel

Ah, I thought you were on Tidal and were adding to a Tidal playlist.
I am pretty sure you won't regret getting this on the river. It is a belter IMHO.
Today's arrival from Japan, my first album of John Hicks Trio from 1997. Don't remember the last time I bought a new release, it is all antiquities I am interested in.

Bert, naamgenoot,
I just downloaded Naim app v5, and noted that all my album cover art is now displayed in low resolution (blurred/lowres), while the original Folder.jpg is high res. Your screenshots look like high resolution, the picture is pretty sharp. Do you use App 4.8/4.9 or v5?
Working my way through my collection of original vinyl pressings of Depeche Mode's back catalogue prior to the release of their new album in the new year. I had the misfortune to spin 'Playing the Angel'. What a scrofulous excuse of an album. Hearing it /enduring it again made me realise why I have only listened to it about 5 times since 2005 when it was released. Good job the rest are infinitely better: like listening to a different band!
Just before...
