2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;
Much jazzier than Eddi Reader's album of the same name. Nice.
Sara Watkins - "Young In All The Wrong Ways" (2016) Of the albums I have heard this year, this would be my pick as my favorite. Vocalist and violinist of Nickel Creek, frequent contributor to The Decemberists, bluegrass roots, writer or co-writer of all the songs on this recording, she is spreading her wings on this release. Anxious to know what she does next, but savoring this for now.

Funnily enough Jeff I was playing this last night and haven't played it in such a long time. Great album shame Anais won't re-release the album that came before this her breakthrough album. I did ask her but she doesn't want to. I hope you and your good lady have a very good Xmas.
Thank you, Ewen. One of a few artists I would like to see live. And return of best wishes to you and yours. Jeff A
Final LP from '79. Soundtrack to the film of the same name, about and starring the 'Orrible 'Oo. Some blistering live performances captured on vinyl (and celluloid):
Punch Brothers - "The Phosphorescent Blues" (2015) Any band that counts Gabe Witcher as a member is a band I will enjoy. Great multi-instrumentalist.
Suzanne Vega - "Tales From The Realm Of The Queen Of Pentacles" (2014)
BP.
From the time when they still could get along and one of my favourite tracks...
Decades (JD) and then....
In A Lonely Place(not really a NO song, no matter what they try to tell you!).
No, you can't stream this one...
2016 - Tidal...
Beginning to appreciate his epitaph...
A+ | Transcoded DSD
(1978)
This caused some consternation among the TD faithful when it was released as it include actual drums and vocals, heaven forfend!
Daniel Lanois - Arcadie
Talking Heads - Remain in Light. Tidal.
Because I heard "Once in a Lifetime" on R4 Tracks of my Years this morning and I haven't played this for many years. Great album - groundbreaking stuff for its time.
Portishead - Dummy
David Bowie - Low
Disc 5 from this set. Sonata no. 15.
