John Taylor - As It Is.  CD rip.  Sounding great from the newly installed NAS.

Powerful performances of a selection of Bartok's works, with his piano sonata as the center piece. Planès plays this sometimes craggy but always melodic music with a lyrical streak and swagger when called for.

Cheers,

EJ

Ripped from a 2009 stereo remaster, Eleanor Rigby is sounding wonderful.

Producer, mixer, DJ, and one half of the legendary Global  Communication (do check out 76:14). This album is a mixture of chilled electronics with some guest vocals, including Bibio, Linda Perhacs and Thom Yorke.

This was the album that started my love and fascination for "underground', "alternative" and psychedelic music and its getting its annual trip out tonight. It was the title track wot did it ... This ripped CD has the original 17+ minute studio album track plus an 18 minute live version and the 3 minute single release.

It's a classic Steve, and their best album, but weirdly I play the inferior follow-up, Ball, more often. It has some naff tracks, but some whizzo ones, like Filled With Fear

OK, so it's just me

Bruce Springsteen - Darkness On The Edge Of Town (Remastered). Qobuz 24-bit - 96kHz. My favourite Springsteen album gets the remaster treatment, so will be an interesting comparison to the CD FLAC rip I currently have.

Hilary put this on in the kitchen while cooking and sent it through to the sitting g room so I ended up with it as well. I've not heard it for years - what a great album it is.
