2016 has arrived today, so time to start this thread afresh.
Last year's thread (and links to previous years) can be found here;

Original vinyl...
3 new albums, all bought on vinyl, 2 of them also on CD
First, having seen him live at the Royal Albert Hall, I simply had to have this memento of a genius playing at his relaxed, happy best. This is one of my all time favourite albums.
(There is a 2 CD + 1 DVD version, and a 3 vinyl LP + 1 DVD version - I bought both...)
Second, blast from the past but re-issued in 2014 and I finally caught up with it on vinyl. Talk about electronic music that is ahead of its time - by about 40 years. Can you believe that he did this in 1976?
Finally, last weekend several Naim Forum friends popped round to spin some discs and have a general catch up. Jon brought this one along. It was cool when originally released, then horribly uncool ever since. However, Phil Collins has just re-mastered and re-released it. It may be uncool, but it is a simply brilliant vinyl remaster with tremendous dynamics on it. And I still like the songs...
So 3 hearty vinyl recommendations for you.
Best regards, FT
Original press vinyl. Second solo effort from Can's bass player/engineer/short wave radio magician:
New purchase arrived in post yesterday, first listen, I'm surprised how few of them I recognise apart from the Vince Clark numbers, their simple exuberance is intoxicatingl - making me think I better search out Upstairs at Eric's.
What did Thathcer put in the water in the UK in 1982?

BigH47 posted:Had a listen to BJH - Once Again, I thought the voice was weak not a bad album though, they have made some great music over the years.
Now also via Tidal, after hearing a track on Radio Paradise:-
The Arcs - Yours, Dreamily. I know nothing about them, lead singer sounds bit like the guy from the Artic Monkeys.
Or just like the guy from the Black Keys

Interesting band Steve. Although I have tried, never managed to get into their music. I do have a couple of records given to me ages ago and I'm going to give them another go. Maybe this time around...
