re: Dave Matthews Band "Crash"

The second of the two Dave Matthews Band albums I've borrowed from a friend. I think I prefer this to Under The Table And Dreaming.

The last song, Proudest Monkey, is a bit of a replay test.  Lots going on in the background, subtle acoustic sounds mingling with horns, etc.  A personal favorite (whole album) listened to frequently.  You should try some of the many DMB live recordings, lots of variations on the originals never played exactly the same twice.  And Carter Beaufort is a master percussionist.  Their DVDS are excellent.  regards, Jeff A

Thanks, Jeff. It was listening to Proudest Monkey at my friend's place that convinced me to borrow the albums. A very nice song which builds and builds.

Lunatic Soul, Walking on a Flash Light Beam on CD.

Then onto Riverside, Love, Fear and the Time Machine Via Tidal.

Nice ones Slim. I take it you have the first (eponymous) Lunatic Soul album? I think it's even better than 'WOAFB'.

And presumably, you know that both bands have Mariusz Duda at the musical helm?

John.

This cover reminds me why I don't like rowing wherry. Too much luggage. Pair or straight four for me...

Hi John

I have all the Lunatic Soul CD's, the 1st and Last are the best I think and have just ordered 5 of Riversides. Yes Mr Duda has a good thing going here IMO.

Haven't heard this for donkeys years, it popped into by head and listening to it now on Tidal - what a wonderful thing Tidal is.

Anyway this is a truly brilliant album, Terry covers a number of musical styles on here with such skill and feeling.

RIP Terry, just hit me, what a loss to music.

While living from small variations, still interesting music...

Dream Theatre, The Astonishing.  First listen and pretty impressed so far although it does sound a little like Andrew Lloyd Webber in places.  Well worth a listen.  Flac via Audirvana/Hugo
