Concerts planned for 2016.

Posted by: dave marshall on 12 January 2016

The "concerts planned" topic seems to have fallen by the wayside somewhat, so I thought I'd try to resurrect it with the following.

Massive Attack, at Leeds O2, on the 27th of this month.

Hoping for a chilled evening.

Dave.

Radiohead in NOS Alive, a summer festival in Lisbon...

I'd like to see them again, but I understand that their world tour sold out completely in just a few minutes. Seeing them at a festival is something I might have done in a past life, but perhaps a bit old for that. Having said that, my oder sister still goes to blues/roots/folk festivals all the time back in 'straya.

We are off to see the wonderful Ben Watt at Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms on 8 June. Bernard Butler is in the band, and it's only 15 quid. Can't be bad.

Long way off yet, but I've just captured tickets for The Kills, at Leeds Beckett University, in October.

Reputedly very good live band with Alison Mosshart taking vocals and Jamie Hince supplying everything else.

July here is crazy.  Dead and Co. (2 shows) and Paul McCartney on three consecutive days at our baseball stadium, Fenway Park.  I want to go to all 3, but I don't know.  Then later that week The Killers 90 minutes away.  We love The Killers and want to see that too.  (My wife is NOT a live Dead person so I'd be with guy friends for that.)

2016 is a great year for live music for us.  So far we have seen Joe Jackson, Jeff Lynne's ELO and Elton John.

Still to come Seal, Billy Joel, 10CC, Paul Simon and Dean Friedman. I also have a ticket to see David Essex (doing a friend a favour).

Not really a big concert goer - but grabbed tickets to see Joe Bonamassa in July. Open air concert at Abbé Neumunster here in Luxembourg. A good, relatively intimate setting compared to other venues.
