Hi
The other day I discovered that the mains cable of my Nait2 is brocken, the insulation is ripped and I dont feel safe using the amp. The damage is on the back side where the cable enters the box.
I would like to have the cable replaced, and I'm aware that the replacement is something that should be carried out by a pro.
My concern is that replacing the cable with a random cord will damage the sound of my fine little amp, so does anyone know which cable was originally used. The cable has no name no info written on it.
I have a box full of "spares", and I have found an I-Sheng 0,75 and a Tongyan 0,75, both from the 90's, would any of theese be suitable?
I will be very thankfull for any information concerning the matter.
Thanks

You could just take a screwdriver, open the box (4 screws), cut the cable just after the insulation is ripped, remove the part that remained mostly inside and connect the rest of the cable instead. You'll have a slightly shorter mains cable. Easy and safe, just use common sense.

Assuming that Lynge is in Denmark, I certainly wouldn't be sending it back to Naim in the UK. I'd take it to a local electrical repair shop - just get the cable shortened as suggested above. So long as it can be soldered correctly, it will be fine.

Thanks all for your kind replies.
Take my apologies but I might not have made myself completely clear in the first post.
Besides the fact that the cable is broken, it is also quite short, the first owner must have cut it, for what ever reason. Maybe it has been fixed before. The short length gives some inconvenience concerning flexibility when placing the system.
I am perfectly aware that replacing/ cutting the cable is a piece of cake for a technician.
My question was rather who was the original producer of the main cables used back then, 1990, and is it stil available, or do you have other recommendations?
Kind regards

The cable itself was probably Pirelli as that was the mains cable that was being supplied with the rest of the kit back around that time. AFAIK it's long out of production . For all that, Naim may be able to tell you for sure.
