What speakers do you have?

I am interested to know what speakers you like and use.

Dynaudio Countour 1.8s - had them 12 years pre-dating my Naim system -  love them and they have really come alive with the 250DR .   Would have to spend a fistfull of cash to get better but love Neats and those new Focal Sopras.

I have a pair of Wilson Bensch Curves (previous speakers were Monitor Audio, Snell, Heybrook, AR)

I am interested in trying out Martin Logan Summit - but will have to wait till funds build up. Although I have heard that electrostatic speakers need more care vs 'traditional' cone based speakers... i.e. should not be placed in strong sunlight, needs dusting on a regular basis, panels need re-stretching, etc. But I really liked the sound of electrostatic speakers - after hearing a set at a friends house....

I have a pair of PMC twenty.21.  I am very picky with bass and always come back to PMC's (due to the ATL) when looking at speakers - I love the control and definition that the bass-line has.  In future I'd love a pair of PMC FACT 8's :-)

My first post on the forum.

I have a pair of PMC Twenty.23. I was looking for front ported speakers as I have limited choice in speaker placement. Very pleased with them so far.

Royd Doublets, which I have had since about 1999. Driven by a 250. Prior to those, I had Linn Kans.

Unfortunately, the original Royd company no longer exists.

IMF Reference Standard Professional Monitors

Ancient now (though recapped crossovers), but never yet heard anything to beat them overall, and they're so satisfying nothing makes me want to replace them, though I do have some thoughts for speakers to try if I come into money: most notably PMC's big ones, though I'd be willing to try Fact 12 to see if they've managed the downsize effectively, and I'd quite like to hear ATC's bigger models as I do like the clarity of their midrange unit. That said, if I was in the market for new speakers at these prices there are a few others I'd listen to as well, but maybe that's a subject for another day!

Neat MF9.

Superb.

Ovators S400s and Royd Sorceres.

Another mention for Neat MF9's.....................magical speakers.

PMC Twenty.23s. So fast and such a soundstage. Like others I  have a difficult room and something rear ported was out of the question.

No idea what speakers I will end up with but you can be sure the PMC Twenty.26s, Fact 8 and Fact 12 will be on my audition list. Not really looking to change the signature of my current speakers since they have such great balance. The same but better (yeah it sounds stupid) is what I'm after.

Harbeth C73ES. Ppreviously had Spendor A9, they were too big for my room.

Before Spendors, a pair of SL2. They did not produce 'enough' bass in the

same room.

Another "vote" for PMC 20.23 here.  Love they work well close to the wall.  Powered by UnitiQute with NAP200.

Naim SL-2. Best speaker I've owned.

Frank.

An interestingly vague question from you, Steve. Why are you asking, are you thinking of changing what you have now?

Recently acquired a pair of Sonus Faber Guarneri Memento, with mixed results to date.

Good luck in your quest.

Naim SBL's, active in main system, N Sats/NSub in system 2

Cannot imagine changing the SBLs unless a really nice pair of SL2's came along. Maybe not even then.

Many moons ago Acoustic Energy AE1s in a non-Naim system. A great speaker but need a fair bit of amp to make them fly they'd probably give the NSats a run for their money now. The SBL replaced a pair of Credos that never really wowed me.

Rega R3's in the lounge (not powered by Naim, just an av amp for tv/movies); Rega R7's on the end of a Nait XS; Totem Dreamcatchers on the end of a unitiqute2/NAP100.

Not at all mate, I love hearing what others use that's all. Speakers are very interesting to me, I would collect them if I had the cash.

Posted on: 18 January 2016 by hungryhalibut

Well, you're not collecting mine!

SBLs and not feeling any need to change.

Currently have Scansonic MB2.5 but may be upgrading to 3.5 in the near future. Have had in the past Totem Dreamcatcher, Model 1 Signature, and Forest. I also currently have a pair of Dynaudio XEO 3 but I'm considering replacing those with PMC 20.21, KEF LS50, or Dynaudio Excite X14.
