What speakers do you have?

I am interested to know what speakers you like and use.

Hello, Very impressed with the cabinets. Did they come from Naim or did you have them veneered yourself.

Hi Robert, do you ask me? christoph
isn't the conclusion of this thread that no single bit of HiFi depends more on personal taste (and maybe room requirements and aesthetics rather than purely performamce) than the loudspeakers? Just look at the variety of choices. I suspect we share more in common with music selections than speakers.
I also note how few people use Focal speakers-none so far I think.
I've counted at least five: Aria (x2), 1038, Sopra, and Utiopia Scala.
Bruce theres a few of us out there, set of 926s here, Sopra sprinkled about, what make in your mind is looking the most adopted, probably PMC (I have DB1i on second system)
Sorry-I never saw the word Focal on a quick skim-did not recognise the model names!
I'll get my coat...
You need a specific search image - think birds finding worms.

I would think there are far more manufacturers of Loudspeaker than for any other audio component.
Would also think a big influence of choice is what ones local hifi shop has to offer [and recommends] i've often wondered how certain speakers would perform in my home with my system, but they were/are not local so any home-dem would either be not possible, unfeasible, or far too inconvenient.

Running Wilson Benesch Vectors on the main system and a pair of Rega RS1s on the UnitiQute in the back room. I also have a pair of Allaes which I can't bring myself to get rid of just in case I decide to revisit active one day!
If I don't (revisit active, that is), I harbour a notion that when I have my dedicated music room (!) the Allaes will be returned to main speaker duties in the lounge based AV system with the nSub and Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 rears.
Cheers,
Ian

Tony,
they are original cabinets from naim [ 1991 ] they used to have nice Oak veneers in those days, light oak, and dark oak : )

And a bigger price range covered too.

Ergo IX, a DIY design made for me by a gentleman (the designer) in New Zealand and shipped to the Pacific NW, Scanspeak Revelatory mid/woofer and Morel tweeter, NZ Heart Rimu solid wood (no veneer), subtley augmented with a REL T-Zero bass unit. My last speakers.
Vinyl system - Linn Saras
CD system - ARC 050s (which blew the previous 'rotators' out of the window, Kans, IBLs, Royd A7 Mk2 & Royd Minstrels) - must try them actively on my vinyl rig one of these days. New versions due from a guy in Germany too apparently.
Imac - Focal XS Books
I have a pair of Proac Studio 148
Bowers and Wilkins pm1's

My mains are JBL S4700. I also have JBL 4307, 4311, 4312, Control 5, and in the lounge ES Series mains/centre/sub ect and HTI 8's in the ceiling and back wall. I did buy my wife some Q Acoustics 2020i speakers which are great for the money. As you can tell I'm a JBL nut, since I was young. I will own Harbeth M40.2, ATC SCM150's and Spendor SP100R2's before I die (I hope!) I am a sucker for big drivers! Naim system of course and my old Denon kit. Most JBL nuts love McIntosh, which is great but to my ear lacks something. I am slowly saving for a tube system which is built by a small maker in Tokyo, Japanese love tubes and horns. As with most, my ambitions may outweigh my wallet, but as I always say, "Dreams are Free!"
After a rocky start, my Kudos X2 & I are getting along famously. Partnered with a Nait XS & after much trial & error with positioning, they are just sooo lovely & balanced.
But if I'm honest, my old Proac 1sc were the ones that got away.
Harbeth SHL 5 for now, waiting for brand-new SHL5+ in February.
Kudos Titans 808, won't change them, that's for sure. Bloody amazing speaker.
Previously had SBL, Credo, Arriva, SL2, n-Sats/n-Sub, Allae, Ovator 400, Ovator 600...
Kudos Super 10 + n-Sub for the home cinema system, Kudos Super 20 + mu-so for the office.

If those Titan's sound as good as they look, they must be awesome.
Monitor Audio Gold 100
ATC SCM19 mk2
ATC SCM40 Mk2 - now delivering superb bass with the nDAC firmware upgrade.
Wharfedale Jade3 on custom built wood stands. Turns out these speakers are quite tough to drive well. With UQ2, NAP100 the slightly raised tweeter frequencies were a bit overpowering. Since changing to the Khartago amp everything is in balance and sounds like an extra octave added to the bottom end, much increased dynamics/slam and no loss of speed. This combo also keeps the tonal balance amazingly consistent at low and high volumes. I think with Naim amps these speakers may need a 250 to properly sing.
I do still kind of miss the vocal magic and wider sweetspot of my old Duevel planets although they were too compromised in bass articulation and dynamics. I may try Duevel's Enterprise to see if they match up well and add those attributes..
