HDX vs CD5 XS

Hi all,
I'm just deciding whether buying a HDX or a good CD player like the CD5 XS and then a network reader as the NDX.
Has anyone compared the CD5 XS vs the HDX in terms of sound quality?
How they play?

Unless you really like a touch screen, I would ask your dealer if he can demo the hdx compared to ns01 plus the Ndac. So is the HDX an end of life product now?
Nobody outside Naim knows. What Naim seems to suggest is that the features in the servers are what is needed, or at least that streaming services will not be integrated into the server software.
Personally this would make me very reluctant to buy any of the servers today, unless the price was very low! On the other hand I really like my ns01+Ndac setup, but that was bought back in 2011, just before iRadio was added to theb servers.

Good luck with your new toy, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Now you have the joy of ripping your CD collection; it's well worth taking a bit of time to get metadata sorted at the beginning. Don't forget to get a backup in place, especially with a second hand unit.
Good point....I switched to Aurender as an server/streamer replacement ( I sold my HDX for months). Next step for Aurender is roon integration, Auralic (my second digital frontend) did this already.
Wonder if there will be a new HDX 2.0 platform in future. Bigger drives, roon, front-panel, digital out, tidal, qobuz integration, etc... If Naim would build such they'll have me in again :-)
Congratulations. I have a smilar set to you (but SN1) and really enjoy it. I'm sure you will too.
