I've been reacquainting myself with Song to the Siren on youtube and would like a copy on vinyl. I see that 4 Men with Beards released a copy of Starsailor on vinyl which is still available and I was wondering if anyone had heard this? I've heard mixed reports about the label overall although I have to say I have Dusty in Memphis which is fabulous.

Thanks

I'm amazed to discover that 'Starsailor' is available on vinyl at all. Infamously, it hasn't been available on CD for well over two decades now, as a result of some copyright wrangle that erupted shortly after the Rhino CD was released (of which I have a precious copy).

The simple answer to your question is that, if you want a currently available version of 'Starsailor', vinyl's your only option at present. I have no idea about the standard of the pressing.

I'd say go for it and while you're at it pick up a copy of Blue Afternoon. I think that's also available from the same label. And the music is so great it transcends any audio considerations. I had no idea that Starsailor wasn't available on CD. What a shame. Thanks!

Thanks both of you. As advised I have ordered both Starsailor and Blue Afternoon - £30 for the two so not bad at all. Looking forward to them arriving now on lovely lovely vinyl.....

Best wishes

You'll also want Lorca, which fits right between the two.
