NDX versus CDX2

thanks, now I have an idea. I could have been anything else, 24/192 or mp3 or Internet radio. If it's a comparison between the same tracks read optically or by a HD, then I can start to value the opinions.

I've owned both main versions of the CDX2 (from 2004 and 2009). Prior to that the CDX from 1999. Loved each but usually only with the XPS/XPS2 - the original -2 always seemed a little lacking without a PSU, the digital version had a more even sound. I'd become very attached to the CDX2 as well, but hearing other units caused me to wave it bye-bye. Certainly miss the HDCD simplicity.

The NDX when I listened to it for a few days had, I felt, a very even and appealing sound, with obviously none of the (possibly?) transport-related issues of the CD player. A very wide-screen, room-filling and extremely revealing presentation. As I've said before, it's possible to prefer the sound of the NDX to that of the DAC. But as Massimo said, it's not a player on its own (apart from the radio of course).
