Mine are black on my main system and white on my second system.

What colour are your speaker cables?

If you biwired with the transparent cable and the black one it would be the Hifi lover's ultimate dream: transparency and inky blackness united as one in sonic harmony.

WHAAAAT!  You mean it's NOT serious?

(P.S. I've always considered humour to be a very serious matter.)

Hi FT,

You should try plumber's foam pipe insulation as it works well. It's a very light weight close cell foam and can be cut easily into discs. It's also as cheap as chips.

Here's an old photo from when I first used it.

I'll bring some with me when we meet up.

Steve

sorry but I've never got all this cable dressing tosh...

I never saw musicians carefully doing anything with cables at the Hacienda Hammersmith Odeon etc they were set out as needed and often looked like a mess of black spagetti, often stuck to the floor with gaffa tape

As a musician I'm always very careful about my signal cables. I pay particular attention to keeping unbalanced signal cables way away from power supply ones (even low DC voltage used for powering effects, can wreck havoc with a signal). Huge benefit came from using digital wireless transmitters - a galvanic connection between a guitar and the rest of the rig was removed, thus causing the entire rig to be much quieter.
