DR upgrade imminent

Just had the call from my friendly ho-fi dealer to get the 300 boxed and ready for collection and onward carriage to Naim. The DR upgrade is happening next week!

If being without music for perhaps 3 weeks means that the 'new' system will be all that it has been suggested it will be then it will be worth having no music.

Mine 300 is booked in too but prob around April time, something to look forward to!

My new 250 DR is being delivered to my dealer tomorrow apparently and I am collecting Saturday morning. So I am anticipating a DReamy weekend.....

And it takes a little while to power off, just so you don't think its a broken on/off switch.....watch the NAIM logo for about 30 seconds or more before it finally powers down. IIRC :-)

I'm borrowing a 300 DR for a week tomorrow, so an update on the upgrade would be nice. Mine is booked in for some time in the future.

Isn't your dealer offering you something to keep you going in the interim?  Mine did, even though it would have been 3x NAP300.

Even if "no", the wait will be worth it!

Yeah Nigel - I had a chuckle at the thought of a dealer supplying ladies of the night with sound systems.

Can anyone comment on how long is the wait to get accepted into Salisbury for DR upgrade to a 250 from point of asking dealer to book it? And how long do they need to complete the work before return? Meantime, I'll check out the other topics for comments on whether a 250DR back-to-factory upgrade is more worthwhile than buying a pre-loved 300 with a view to a future DR upgrade
