Does anyone else know of the folk singer John Tams? I've just discovered that he appears in the ITV drama 'Jericho' as the character 'Songbird'. It's on this (Thursday) evening.

Oh, yes. I have Home Service and Albion Band albums with him - great singer and song-writer. I was alarmed when I saw his name at the top of the thread because I thought it meant something dire.

Currently listening to his solo album - The Reckoning (best album from BBC radio 2 folk awards 2006). As an actor he was also well known for playing Hagman (one of the chosen men in Sharpe) as well as co-writing the music and singing the theme tune. A definite all rounder.

I was not hitherto aware of JT's acting credentials/abilities. 'Rise Up Like the Sun' is an Albion Band classic and I've dug out his lovely solo album 'Home' for a spin.

I have Unity in my collection, obviously a talented guy if he can act as well. Think I'll explore some of his previous work

Didn't he also appear in Sharpe though I could be wrong. I think it was him that sang all the olde folk songs on the show.
