UPnP source not detected

Posted by: PSH on 04 February 2016

I am running Logitech Media Server (aka Squeezebox) on a Raspberry Pi.  Apart from the proprietary protocols it also provides UPnP access.

Does anyone know why it can be accessed / controlled using the Naim app but doesn't appear as a UPnP source on the front panel of a NaimUniti?

Thanks

How do you have the SB input set on the Naim app. ??

I don't know Uniti but if you can do the same as my NDX it should work.  I have my TV audio via optical into the NDX "Digital 3" (that's the optical) input,  I've renamed the input as "TV" in the NDX display edit.

The NAS, Raspberry Pi and Naimuniti are all on the same network and connected by ethernet cable and switch.  The Naim app is on an iPad which is connected to the same network wirelessly.

The NaimUniti UPnP input should detect UPnP servers on the ethernet input and indeed it does with other UPnP servers when these are on the network (e.g. Asset and Minimserver) but not the SB server.  Strange!

Not really helpful perhaps ... but I have LMS with afaik no tweaks (installed as standard on VortexBox) and its visible and selectable on my UnitiQute with 24/192 board.

Thanks for confirming that - especially since VortexBox is Linux based as is my Raspberry Pi.  I will try and investigate further what is going on.  I have already determined that a Windows based machine running LMS shows up on the Uniti so this is something peculiar to the Raspberry Pi or my network.

Update - nothing to do with my Raspberry Pi or network.  Installing the most recent "rolling-build and unofficial" version of LMS has solved the problem.  Who knows what intricacies have changed the situation!...........but I'm happy once again!
