Music and Cars through the decades - 25th Feb 2016

Posted by: NaimAudio on 04 February 2016

Celebrating great music and great cars through the decades from the 1960’s to the present day, join HiFi Cinema at the HR Owen Bentley Showroom in Pangbourne.

Showcasing some of the greatest cars hand-picked by HR Owen and the opportunity to listen to some inspirational music from the last five decades through a Naim Audio system the evening will take you on a musical journey through the years. Starting in the 1960s with the explosion of pop culture, taking in a selection of significant music from each decade right up until the present day.

As the manufacturer of the Naim for Bentley in car system it was only right that the Music be played on a High-End Naim System featuring Focal Sopra loudspeakers, for an outstanding performance in keeping with the cars on site.

Also open to all attendees the opportunity to win a Mu-so. Simply enter your details into the card provided on the night to enter the draw.

Sessions start at 6pm and 8pm, there is car parking available directly over the road, and Pangbourne Station is a 2 minute walk away.

With a selection of refreshments available and staff from HiFi Cinema, Naim Audio, Harwood Hutton, and of course HR Owen to talk about Music, HiFi , Cars and all things in between, register your interest now here: http://bit.ly/1PWiZZ0

Sounds a fantastic idea and opportunity. Hi-fi and music in a car is as much of the aesthetic and ingrained memory as the auto itself. Had an old Plymouth Valiant (64?) with a tubed a.m. radio in it and single speaker in the dash playing the early 90's alternative Seattle radio station KJET. "Devil Inside", indeed.

Also had the opportunity to drive a Bentley on local freeway playing fIREHOSE song "Making the Freeway Safe for the Freeway". Brilliant. Have fun, all.

note: what a pain for auto manufacturers to have to make left and right hand drive cars.

First (new car) 1976 toyota corolla lift-back with tandberg fasett speakers "bracketed" in the rear (facing forward) and wire connectors were din type so it could removed. Several different amp/head combos- not sure if I ever did get to one of those "ultimate" alpine combos.

Not sure of the year but at one time ferrari offered a car with the steering wheel in the center (maybe it was so they did not need to produce a left and right hand drive version)
