Bristol Show - Forum

Let the Voice of Naim Take you Inside the Music.

Dates: Friday 26th - Sunday 28th February 2016

Location: Marriott City Centre Hotel

At this year’s Sound & Vision – The Bristol Show, Naim will be taking you on a journey deeper inside the music. From our entry-level Mu-so wireless range through to our core range of separate DR amplifiers.

Executive Lounge

Experience our revitalised range of power amplifiers which have recently been updated to feature flagship Statement amplifier transistors and DR (Discrete Regulator) technology, offering even more of the fundamental Naim pace, rhythm and timing for which the originals have become renowned. These will be partnered with a range of high-end streaming solutions and Focal Sopra loudspeakers for the ultimate listening experience.

Tickets for the demonstrations will be available from the Naim stand on the Terrace Level.

Terrace Level

We'll also have a range of multiroom solutions on display, including first UK demonstrations of the new Mu-so Qb compact wireless music system which has already been awarded five stars from What Hi-Fi? and Stuff, as well as our full range of Uniti all-in-one players which now feature the TIDAL lossless streaming service.

Naim Label

Naim Label will take up its usual position adjacent to reception with a wide range of music from its catalogue on CD and Vinyl and a special discount voucher for the Naim Label Bandcamp Hi-Def Download Store with every purchase.

We look forward to seeing some of you there.

I would have expected a pairing of the Statement with at least the level of a Grande Utopia.  The Sopra seems very imbalanced  - is this commercially driven at all?

I heard this setup at a show a year ago, and it sounded hugely impressive, but in an in-your-face sort of style that would be unbearable in a domestic setting. So maybe the Sopras are a 'commercially driven' decision in that thay might have a presentation that you could actually live with.

I didn't get the impression that the Statement was going to feature at Bristol, with or without Focal Grande Utopia.

I think Ben might have inferred that from the OP, but what it actually says is that they'll be demonstrating new amps that use "Statement amplifier transistors and DR (Discrete Regulator) technology."

The new sopras are surprisingly good, and well worth a listen

I'll be there on the Saturday - looking forward to it.

Yep, that's what I read too. No Statement, just kit with derivatives such as the transistors (and possibly the volume knob eg Muso muqb ?)

We will be there, can't wait to catch up again

It would be nice to hear some Ovators (S400?) somewhere...

Margaret and I will be there Saturday.

Just back from a quick visit, the QB looks bigger than I thought it would, perhaps because it's more 'vertical' than the Muso, which looks almost sleek in comparison. Show seems very busy from the off. The new Rega Planer 3 looks gorgeous, sounded very good with voices. They confirmed the £500 or so MC Cartridge is due later this year still. I had a quick listen to the Russell K Red100s which sound fantastically musical from ripped CDs. Wonder what they sound like on the end of one of my 250s with my LP12/ARO as the source.

What system  was russell k speakers on the end of /speaker cable ?

T & A boxes plus Tellurium Q cable I believe, the room is Kog Audio, on the 2nd floor, shame not Naim...

The new Proac DB1 sounded superb on the end of their usual Naim duo.

Heading up to the show tomorrow morning. First time and really looking forward to it

Just come out of the first Naim demo of the day. First track up was Fink! I'm a happy man. Great demo. Going back for more this afternoon

The Naim demo was really good (and long!). The room was far from ideal with noticeable echo when Doug was presenting, but the system still sounded superb. We were very impressed with the Sopras.

it wasn't possible to make a judgement on the Qb sound quality as it was just too noisy, although I can confirm that the Muso next to it sounded obviously better.

I had an interesting chat with Alan Ainsley on the Melco stand. He told me that you can use the backup function on the Unitiserve to copy to the Melco which will then present the Naim rips correctly to the NDS. He's also working an Asset software upgrade.

We were also impressed with the Rega and Neat rooms. Neat were demonstrating floor standing Iotas which sounded amazing.
