A brief note to thank Tony M, J.N. and Jon Honeyball for popping round today to spin a few discs and to listen to some old, some new, some remastered and some blue tunes.
But mainly thanks for helping out with the mountain of olives, pesto, sandwiches and cakes, plus fruit for those of a healthy disposition.
The CD player enjoyed the marvellous Eric Clapton Slowhand 70th Bithday concert CD (thanks, Jon) while the Vertere turntable managed to drag its needle effectively through most of the vinyl grooves that crossed its path.
I was too busy either dispensing or consuming sustenance to take any photos, so feel free Tony to post any that you deem suitable.
Our thoughts also go to 911GT3r, who tried to make it but couldn't quite due to a grumbling spine. Get well soon; we missed you.
best regards from an FT who is trying to get the 135 cooling fans to come on by playing Made In Japan VERY loudly (almost at Honeyball levels!)

Hi FT
Glad you guys had fun. Was it purely social or were you meeting to group check any kit?
Or perhaps assuaging J.N.'s withdrawal symptoms while his 500 has some Wiltshire TLC

Many thanks Mr Foot Tapper, for a lovely day! You've a beautifully balanced system there, a real delight to listen to (although Oscar the giant dog didn't seem too impressed!) I managed to come away with wallet fairly intact - only an Eric Clapton BluRay & a Jennifer Warnes CD on order.
Superb food, great to catch up with Jon Honeyball and J.N. again for a good chat & gossip.
It's a shame time flies by so quickly at these occasions but hopefully I can return the invitation sometime very soon. Like yourself Ian, I didn't really think to take photos, just a couple of quick snaps. Here's yourself & J.N., looking a bit strangely shaped 'cos of the wide angle lense, and deciding what to play next, plus our host by his very smart Vertere turntable.

'The Hunter'...always a good 'show off the system' go-to disc...but 'Celebration Day' is a crime of the century.
Looks an eenjoyable get together.

Hi Chris, it was:
98% social,
1% Tony & J.N. wanting to hear the perspex wonder by Vertere,
1% returning the compliment to Jon, who generously invited me over when he had a certain S1 pre-amp to play with in his system
Oh and 50% J.N. suffering withdrawal systems from his NAP500 and needing a quick fix!
Thank you Strat; you are most welcome to come to the next one if you like. We are limited on numbers as the room seats 5 comfortably at any one time. On the other hand, this provides the excuse to organise such get togethers more frequently...
Very kind of you James. It only took us 6 years to find them. Others shouldn't take so long!
Well spotted Graeme. We did play Hunter but never got round to Celebration Day. Tony's Gershwin concert was most impressive though, probably because it was recorded in something like 1959.
Best regards, FT
