Album Art missing in album view in naim app

Hi

I have an issue with album art not being visible for some albums in the album view.  The art shows if you select an album, and in the playing view,  just not in the album view where you see the thumbnails.  A folder symbol is displayed as if there were no album art file.

Looking at the jpeg files I can see that the ones which are not visible have a higher pixel density that those which are visible.

Are there recommended specs for the album art files for the naim app or is this a feature of the media server (ReadyNAS built in server)

Any my info/advice appreciated.

Have you tried emptying the UPnP cache on the Naim app? That often works for me when album art is not displaying correctly.

Try emptying the image cache as well.

Tried both of these options, but to no effect.

i am sure it has something to do with the spec of the jpg files,   The ones which are visible are a much lower pixel per inch count,  which I assume equates to resolution.

All of mine show up, whether they are 150 by 150 or 1000 by 1000. It sounds very much like it's something to do with the server software. Is there a setting somewhere? Do they have a forum that could help you? Have you tried rescanning the folder? Failing that, maybe installing Asset or Minim, if they work on your NAS?

I'm quite sure that it's the ReadyDLNA (the built in server on ReadyNAS). I have had a similar experience. When I'm using asset installed in my laptop the cover art is showing just fine. I usually don't bother though. For the version of ReadyNAS which I'm using it's not possible to install Mininm or Asset. You could investigate if this option is available for yours since that's quite likely going to solve the problem.

If not, a Synology or QNAP nas should fix it.

Try changing the size of one of the files, keeping the file name the same.  I suspect you are correct that it is to do with the size of the files.

Which ReadyNas are you using?  I ask as some can run Plex which may improve matters.

I have a ReadyNas 102 and a 104 but have moved these to backup duties and put in a QNAP TS-453 pro.  It's probably overkill but I use it for other things as well.  The ReadyNas 102/104 can run Plex but they are a little under-powered but worth a try.

The nice thing about the QNAP is that it will run Asset and Minimserver along with Plex.  The TS-453 has quite a lot of horsepower so everything is nice and quick.

The advantage of using the better UPNP servers is that they can trans-code, so you can trans-code from FLAC to WAV which sounds a little better.
