The River in Reverse

I just received the CD and had my first listen tonight. It sounds like the band were in studio A and the microphones in studio B. No sparkle or definition. Anyone else heard this?

When I read the title of this thread I thought you meant that Amazon sales were in decline.

Then I thought surely not given the numbers of albums purchased by those on this forum.

I assumed it was the Elvis Costello and Allen Toussaint album, which I do recall being a bit 'swampy' or murky but I think that was what producer Joe Henry was going for.

Yes, it was Elvis and Allen, very swampy. That was my main issue. Swampy to the point of being pish. Amazon reviews really do not go into SQ. I think this is one for the car CD player. Pretty disappointing as Elvis and Allen deserve better.
