TIDAL - Master Quality / MQA

Earlier today my Tidal desktop app updated to the latest version.

When I view the stream quality settings there's an option I haven't seen before called 'Master':

Normal
High
HiFi
Master

When selecting it the toast notification says streaming will be at LOSSLESS_HD quality from the next playback. Presumably this is the MQA update that Tidal have promised subject to agreement with the record labels. I wonder when we'll get a firmware update for our streamers.

I wonder if this could be related to the now really rather long delay in the firmware update originally expected before Christmas?

If you look on the Roon forums, there is some info from Tidal about this. It seems to be some kind of unintended quirk if I understand it properly.
