NDX plus existing or 272/250

Gpod afternoon, simple question I hope! I have  tried a 272 plus existing 150 at home and tried the NDX in the shop. Preference was NDX over 272, bit more separation, but I enjoyed both. Other possible option is 272 plus ex demo 250 but not heard this set up yet. I know i need to try at home which is being arranged but any one have any views if 272/250 would be a big leap over NDX and my existing amplification. 250 would be pushing budget some what!
