Active Statement

With regard to Statement,I have never read of an Active system using Statement amps.I know Darke Bear and Graham use Active Statement with their S1 preamplifiers but I am intrigued weather Naim experimented with a 6 pack statement monoblock system and maybe Ovater 800' s ?

I appreciate it would be alot of power on tap, just like passive statement would be.Anyone from Naim or the trade have any experiance of this configuration.

Any comments most welcome

I would think that given the current delivery, You would need each set of power amps on a dedicated mains radial just to avoid throwing a trip switch. I be interested just to see it all wired up.

No one, not even Naim has tried this yet.  I had this confirmed while at the factory last week.  Would be an interesting experiment although I think the biggest gain would be the removal of the speaker cross overs rather than the addition of a second (or third) set of monoblocks.

Current delivery - well the monoblocks have a soft start mechanism given the size of their transformers, so should be no issue at power on.

No idea whether the current draw during operation would require a bigger circuit however you can get 40A MCBs and possibly larger.  Separate radials may introduce earthing issues so might not be preferred.

The new supply cables to Salisbury are being laid as we speak. Then the experiment can begin...

Wouldn't six Statement amplifiers together collapse and form a black hole?

Lol, we'd be able to detect the ripples

Nah, Naim had the six pack scenario covered, you'd need at least 8 for critical mass

"I'd like a really low impedance three phase supply please"...

"Will it fit into my MK plug?"

Remember, its always about sells!

A six pack of 135's

A Tri pack of 250's/300's/500's

But six Statement Blocks, that could set one back a half million!!!!!

Active Statement

Being an Active fan, the classic ongoing debate which comes to mind, Active 250's or Passive 500?

However, Active S1 Pre/500's vs Passive Statement, I tend to lean towards the latter!

But again at a substantial cost!

S1 Pre/500's with Full Loom-150K

Speakers 20K-30K

The Gap has narrowed, for those fortunate enough to partake!
