THE Naim show 2016

Posted by: TOBYJUG on 22 February 2016

Given the sheer volume of Naim boxes over the decades and the mind boggling variations of putting together a Naim system, a large Venue with 15 -20 rooms with systems - ranging from CB Naits to early actives - olive 6 packs - bolt down classics - rareties - one offs - new Statements . A couple of rooms from personally contributed systems from owners etc.

you get car expos from mini and VW owners showing their beloved belongings to share with others that's endorsed by the manufacturers, why not one from Naim ?  A world class product manufacturer putting up a show every so often that's just about Naim.

Naim should do a "Tasting menu" from different vintages - along with the appropriate music from the time.     Audiophiles would flock in numbers to know what their favourite recordings would have sounded like on a Naim system of that time..

There could be a"vote" room , either from current products or from vintage , led by people on this forum..

come on Naim .

Clearly the idea of setting up a demonstration facility is totally barking from a financial perspective, but the lorry, Paul dishing out butties from the back of a Bentley, and Dave's house for our friends in the North sounds like a top business proposition!

Thanks for your support HH.

This may yet grow wings!

If the show is held in Brighton or Bristol , Steve Sells sea shells along the sea shore could be a unique opportunity.

Reading throught this thread I suddenly have a craving for a well made good old fashioned Clubhouse sandwich

No response thus far from Paul Stephenson.

He already told us that he's a bacon roll sort of person, so it will be rolls not sandwiches!

Surely he's aware, from my profile page, that my toaster is hooked up to twin 555DR power supplies?

No contest, I'd have thought.

C'mon Paul, what's to think about?

Dave.

Apart from putting a QB in the little toilet and a MUSO in the shed, do you have the originally proposed 15-20 rooms available to do justice in presenting the systems at their best , and with adequate space for people on an environmental health safety aspect ?

This is what they teach you at business school. You'll have a perfectly sound and potentially lucrative proposal and then all the nay sayers will emerge with why it won't work.

Bentley/Naim/Butties in DaveM's back yard - couldn't fail!

I'm sorry Dave, but toast tastes better with just the one 555DR power supply. Use the other one for the kettle.

Hi Clive,

As with all things, it ultimately comes down to personal taste, (see what I did there?).

I much prefer my toast with my present setup, with a Hi-Cap DR on the kettle, and Powerlines throughout.

I did once try plugging a Powerline into our slow cooker, unfortunately the IEC input on the cooker was a non-standard design.  I was very disappointed as I was looking forward to the least microphonic meal ever.
