This thread's getting really Boring, so I'm going to try to liven it up a bit by suggesting that A will be a nice upgrade too, and at considerably lower cost than B. So that's what I'd audition....before I bought option B...

I just suggested that the 202 and 282 were similar, major differences between Naim Pre Amps is their Power Supplies!

The difference between a NAC202 and NAC282?  Well, apart from looking quite different inside and out, there's a simple answer Allante - just listen.

This is true, forgive me, it just appears that the margin of difference would be greater between 282 and 202, than XPS DR and XPS!

But as you say I Havn't done the comparison so cancel my vote for B!

Looks like we both reside in the US, and I've just sold a Nakamichi 680.

We both share similar components within our Systems, 282, 250.2.  

Both of us are passionate about the Forum, not to mention X raised to the n + 1 divided by n + 1, well....Calculus, Wayne State University, Math Major.

Looks like we both have a lot in common.

As you know Naim isn't as prominent in the US as Europe, hence the coin! 

Perhaps it's best to relinquish the coin, it can be perceived as mocking!

I also believe, the Forum functions best with queries and advice, from those with ears on experience.

Another (late) vote for option B. I think of the preamp as an extension of the source because, IME, improving the preamp has always improved the source. You also get the benefit of improving all of your sources with a preamp upgrade.

282 is so much better than 202

I own both and there is no contest between them

so option B
