Hi All
I have an LP12 with Prefix inside connected to the Phono port on my Uniti2. Its not bad, but I do have a little hum and static which is noticable and distracting during quiet passages of music.
The grounding wire is not connected to anything, because there is no binding post on the back of the Uniti2. I have tried chassis and floating ground on the Uniti2 and unsuprisingly there is no obvious difference so I have left it on floating.
When I hold the grounding wire on the back of the chassis, against the outside of the FM antenna plug, it is better. I dont know if that is because it is grouding through the Uniti2 or through me holding it!
Can anyone suggest what could be a permanent solution to grounding my TT?
Thanks in advance.

There is quite a bit about earthing and the Prefix on the forum so you could try searching for the answer. But if it were me, I would take the grounding wire from the LP12 back to the earth connection in the power supply plug (by extending it with a piece of wire) and then try the Uniti2 earthing switch in the two positions. I suspect grounded may then sound quieter, because everything is pegged to ground.
There may be an option of connecting the grounding wire to the Prefix inside the LP12 but I don't know enough about it to advise from a distance. Maybe your dealer could advise?
you mention that connecting the grounding wire to the aerial socket outer on the Uniti2 makes it quieter. That doesn't surprise me at all and it will be the aerial socket not you that makes it quieter! I think that one test shows that you do need to do something with that grounding wire.
