Have New NDS with older 555PS should I go for 555dr ?

I had an HDX nDAC/555 combo. I traded my nDAC in towards an NDS which I have had for 7 weeks! It sounds great! Using a 5 year old 555 power supply. Reading on the forum most of you think highly of a 555dr. Should I buy a new 555dr and sell or trade on my 555? Or is it worth it to keep the older 555ps and use both power supplies on the NDS. How significant an upgrade is the 555dr to the older 555? And is it a notable upgrade to use the 555 with the 555dr on the NDS? Or small enough that is might be better to sell it? Opinions.

It's a good result. It's one you have reached using your own ears. It is repeatable and reversible. And it's saved you some serious money.

What is it like if you swap the two 555PS over, having the DR model on the digital side? Have you thought to experiment with that?

Clive, we briefly did, but still found that the rhythm & pace was not what the sole 555dr was. You could here more textures and such but the overall enjoyment was not there. Guess that is why you have to experiment with this stuff, and I and sure two 555DRs would be fantastic but not looking to spend that much right now! Maybe in the future I can add another one ! It's not like the NDS/555DR is a shabby combo. It is very musical and enjoyable. I was hoping the non DR 555 added to the 555DR on the NDS was going to be a nice upgrade! For me it was not!
