Next Upgrade Advice (2)

Good evening all. A week or so ago I asked for some upgrade advice regarding my NAC152/NAP155/FCXS and had a great response which seemed to suggest basically the same.

Pleased to announce that my new (second hand!) NAC282/Hicap (non DR)/NAPSC has arrived and is well integrated in the system. The 155 whilst OK is also being replaced and I have just agreed the purchase of a 1 year old NAP250.2 (non DR) to bring everything together, which will arrive in a week or so.

First indications of 282/Hicap are of more of everything, great detail and separation, but a little woolly in the bass on some music.....perhaps this is the 155 and hopefully it should tighten up with more control when the 250 arrives.

Will report back once all settled down, the 282 is over 10 years old and I think a service may be called for to bring it up to near new quality. Presume there are quite long delays at Salisbury these days?

If your question is , should you service your 282? Then the answer is yes. If that is your question?

I think he is just telling us what he did in the end, after asking for our advice a few days ago......

Hi David,

Quite right I was just saying thanks for the previous advice, letting you know what I went with and saying I would provide a further update later when I have had a good listen.

Perhaps my final comments should have read "Many thanks you advice and suggestions were really appreciated.
