WMP wont stream my Flac files from PC to Muso Qb

Posted by: surfer on 06 March 2016

Hi, I've just got a Muso-Qb and I am unable to stream Flac files to it that are stored on my PC, it takes forever "contacting media server" then eventually comes up with a "media is not available" error with a "upnp error 716"

Or I get "failed to retrieve media information from media serve" with the error "the selected media cannot be played on this device. Either the format was not supported, or the computer or storage devices that contains the media is offline"

It plays all my PC streamed MP3 tracks, it will play streamed Flac when the source is my Nas Drive but not PC. MY PC is wirelessly connected to my router as is the MUSO.

I also have no problem streaming the tracks from my NAS wirelessly using the Naim App

Windows 7 64bit

Anyone have any ideas ?

There is no native support for FLAC in WMP or WMC in Windows 7.   There are ways to fix 'um by installing different media players          - go search www,  a few to choose  -  but maybe a better solution is go to Windows 10 & at least get the new MS features & support.

Hi, yeah I know that, I do have the plug in for Flac though and WMP on its own plays my Flac files, going to windows 10 is a  no no for me, would cost me an arm and a leg to update certain software, I don't think Win 7 is the problem

Win 7 is the problem, getting it to  play FLAC on the PC is one thing,  but streaming over wireless might have another road block.

have a look at these .........  http://en.softonic.com/s/flac-player-windows-7
