I decided to spend time making the most of what I have, rather than spending cash on even more kit! I've not tried the SL cables, I use a Hi-Line which is interesting... with a Powerline (and Hi-Line), I found the system a little harsh and kept going back to the "lavender" (standard) interconnect, but without Powerline, the Hi-Line gives a sound that has so much more resolution and detail without being unnatural. I'm still hearing new things in songs I've listened to for 25 years!
I use a Synology NAS with default Synology UPNP server, rip using XLD on a Mac and don't get hung-up on network cables (I know a fair bit about Networking, and will just say that I know cables make a massive difference, but not network cables). I did have a UnitiServe, but I'm tech savvy and happier with RAID mirrored storage - I have also set up my Mac to automatically rip CDs with metadata when a CD is inserted, so still as convenient as UnitiServe and I haven't detected any audio quality loss.
The other good move I made was Fraim, but most especially, my system isn't really friendly with the two-stack "brains and brawn" idea (only really applies to Power Amps with separate supply) so I have a single stack. I used to have a DAC, so experimented with the spare shelf I had after I sold the DAC. Turns out that the NAC 282 at the top, followed by the NDX and then an empty shelf really helps to reduce interference between the boxes with power supplies in.
