Went yesterday, couldn't believe the discounts off some products. Just shows how much can be knocked off, if the retailers want to. Nothing off the Nikon D5 though, full price it will be then.
Not been before. Put off by some off the 'characters' I read debating what they intend to do there and which camera they're going to hang around their necks. Plus put off by the sheer numbers that go...
Good was it?
Last photography exhibition I went to like this was about 17 years ago, so didn't know what to expect. It was actually pretty good. I bought a Gitzo head GH3382QD for £299 from Speed Graphic. This is normally £379 on the net. Also got a Nikon MKiii 1.4x teleconvertor for £345 (£430 usual price).
There was a fair few talks going on all day, which looked interesting, but I got tied up talking to various exhibitors and didn't sit down to any.
Was there on Saturday. Comicon was on next door, and at one stage, there was a march of about 25 storm troopers, a wookie, Batman, Superman, Indiana Jones and multiple Dr Whos through the hall! Wish I'd had my camera! Fantastic talk on the Super stage by Nick Danziger, who shared some of his photos from war torn parts of the world, and stories that brought some of the audience to tears.
Yes, some fantastic bargains to be had (Calumet and London Camera Exchange especially). Leica stand takes top prize for the most snooty and rude staff - very off-putting and patronising - all the worst attributes of snobbery and plain rudeness.
Show is worth going to, if you haven't been yet though.

Missed the last couple of years. Normally only go to see if there's any bargains going on gear i'm interested in. Did a lot of upgrading last year so no interest in going along this time. Will have a look next year as i'm looking to change my lighting kit for another brand.
