No sound when nDAC ground switch on floating

 Hi all

I tried to experiment with ground switchs of my ndac and qute2 to see if there is any difference in sound  with various combinations.

The system is qute2->ndac/xpsdr 282/hcdr/250dr/ totem hawks (nothing else is connected currently to the system although i own other sources)

I had always ndac and qute2 on chassis setting. In theory -as i understand it- the optimal solution is ndac (analogue connection to pre) on chassis and qute2 on floating. So I tried it for a few days but didnt like it.

Today i wanted to try qute2 on chassis and ndac on floating but when i put ndac switch on floating i have no sound from the system.

Why this happens? I think this is not normal function.  Any ideas?

Check that you have actually switched the ground/floating switch. The DIN or Phono switch is right next to it. If you put your hand over the back it is very easy to select the wrong one. Hence no sound!

hi geko thanks for the reply.

I think you are propably right. I will check it when i am back home but i have totally forgot  the presense of DIN to RCA switch.

So this is it...

Thanks again.

No problem I hope that's the solution.

You should notice a nice difference. I find getting the correct setting on my system very noticeable, more image width, better separation, deeper bass etc.
