Pots question

hi, just a simple question. I'm looking forward to upgrading my 82's pots 6 to 8 when the war office gives my the OK. Until then, I was wondering whether I should do a little custom removal of the single lock tie that gathers the wires on top of the pots board. I noted that the pots 8 hasn't got one.
