Hi Folks
I'm in need to some help! I've just moved to a Windows 10 PC at home and installed my copy of Office 2010.
I've opened up my existing Outlook files and it seems to be connecting to the email server to bring back new mail. However, all is not well.
The count for unopened mail against the Inbox in the Navigation pane has risen, but the new mail items aren't appearing in the main pane where the emails are listed. This list is the list from when I copied the outlook file from my old machine. It's not just the Inbox either, the same seems to be happening for the Junk folder.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Gavin

Try typing read:no in the search box, do the missing emails now appear?
Your inbox may still be sync'ing, leave it a while and see if the emails appear
Failing that right click the Inbox folder; then, select Mark All as Read

Hi Rob
Thanks for the ideas - I'll have a go tonight. I had just decided to reinstall Office to allow me to start from scratch. I thought I'd try setting up a brand new Outlook folder and then import my old messages.
As far as I'm aware the sync had finished - I could see it count through all the messages and the 'volume' of those messages. The existing messages still had a handful of unread ones so it was showing some unread. It was also happening in the Junk folder.
The online Microsoft community suggested deleting and recreating my profile. I think I've done that although I'm not 100% sure (due to my lack of familiarity with Windows 10).
Thanks
Gavin

Problem solved! I actually figured out how to delete the profile and not just mess about with the email settings and data file settings. Once I'd done that I set up a new profile, all the new emails came in and I could import the old emails from the old Outlook data file.
