MinimServer "properties"?

Earlier Eloise said.....

"With MinimServer there is no need to manually tag things - if you go into the MinimServer properties, in the list of "index tags" add #AudioQuality, #AudioData, (you need to make sure you continue a comma separated list so each item except the last is followed by a comma and you can add either or both) - after a rescan you will then find new indexes to browse."

Where do you see properties in the MinimServer software.  When I hope the software all I see is the "MinimServer Status Page", no properties.  What am I missing?  I don't have my 272 plugged in (waiting on speaker cable).

I was hoping to set up tagging this way for my HD music.

Thanks!

You need to install minimwatch on a PC, that'll give you access to the finer points of the server.

If you haven't already, you may also want to install minimstreamer, as this adds some extra functionality (details are on the minimserver website).

I think, though I'm not sure without checking, that it may be minimstreamer which allows on-the-fly transcoding, which many people find improves sound quality compared with streaming e.g. FLACs. So definitely worth a look.

It is MinimStreamer that does the transcoding yes...

I recently learned of MinimStreamer too and I've added the code to do the "on the fly" FLAC to WAV conversion [It explains how to on their website btw]

It really makes a noticeable difference. Heaven knows why but it does.

Yes, Minimstreamer allows on the fly transcoding from one format to another. In my case, I am transcoding from ALAC to WAV 24bit and it seems to improve sound quality.
