Disappointed with Chord Cobra 3 into a UQ2

I've just replaced what is a cheapo patch RCA between my phono pre-amp and my UQ2 with a Chord Cobra 3.

Have to say I'm slightly disappointed. The difference was immediate, but if anything is duller to my ears than the £2 cable. I am going to try adjusting the VTF of my tonearm (a Project 9cc evo with a Dynavector 10x5) as I've got it at the top of end of the recommended range, to see if it brightens up.

But yes, quite disappointed!

Thanks for the recommendation. Will definitely consider. This morning I gave the cobra one last chance - as I remembered I had the vtf of my TT on the upper brink of its recommended range, so I am seeing what happens if I dial down dramatically. It's made a difference but whether it's enough I'm not sure yet.
