+1, the big band solo, when hooked up to the light and laser show, was nothing short of gob smacking.
Not exactly a drum solo but Santana's Michael Schrieve's break on Soul Sacrifice as featured on the Woodstock DVD...
I always enjoyed the Space/Drums break during the second set of a 3+ hour Grateful Dead concert. Is it still a solo when there are two drummers? I think so.
It was fun trying to figure out which song they were going to break out of the jam with, as they would often give little hints. My favorite was "The Other One", which always started with a powerful Phil Lesh bass run. Good times!
