Ruark Prelude v Neat Mystique II

Has anyone tried the Ruark Prelude floorstanders out with Naim kit ?. I am currently using some Neat mystique II and they are fine but lack a bit of depth bass wise . I am not a basshead by any means but listen to a lot of rock and blues, which does have some whack now and then . I wondered if there would be a vast difference betwixt the two .

I had the prelude floorstanders with a Naim xs for a good while. I don't know the quality of sound from the Neats, but they look very similar - I would imagine they both share similar qualities .

the ruarks do not have very low bass ability ,neither do they have a boosted low mid band 100 Htz, so sound neutral down to 48 Htz I would guess.

i found them to be very good , emotive, good timing and plenty of out of the box sound staging and responded very well to any upgrades from speaker cables, interconnects and power leads.

where they lose out to other more costly speakers is ability to handle high volume.  They go loud plenty but don't have the control and timing goes out the window.

What's the rest of your system? And why the Preludes?
