XLR query

Posted by: pete T15 on 23 April 2016

Hi All ,

I've just received a Witch Hat 4DIN to XLR interconnect I purchased off the auction site , it is specifically made for a NAP 250 . The problem is that it doesn't seem to fit at the XLR end , there is an alignment groove which is in the wrong place , does anyone know if the XLR fittings have changed from the old 250 to the DR version or if I am making an obvious mistake ?

Thanks .

Peter .

XLR is a standard. Perhaps the cable was incorrectly assembled. Normally you can unscrew the plugs - most of them are made by Neutrik.  So you may be able to adjust the ring yourself.

I have CB, olive, and reference NAP 250s and XLR is the same for all.

Thanks Guys , it is quite bizarre as the alignment is half a turn out ? I'm going to speak to witch hat tomorrow to see what they say . This cable is second hand and apparently came off a 250 so it's very strange .

Maybe someone who sold it took the Canon plug apart and put it back together wonky. Surely you can ask the seller?

I asked this question to the seller yesterday and apparently it came straight off his 250 . I'll see what tomorrow brings before I try to realign anything .

If you are in the EU, provided you are within 14 days of the receipt of the shipment, you can just send it back to the seller, for a full refund. No questions asked.

All sorted , I had a play and the plug came apart quite easily , it had been assembled wrongly and had obviously not come straight off a 250 .... It's working fine now and thanks all  as ever for your help .
