Not even close for matching the 202+200dr performance. You might want to move up the ladder and get the Electras or even Sopras if Focal is your only cup of tea. However, there are many brands out there outperforming Focal both sonically and performance/price wise.

The 926 would be absolutely fine with the 202/200, so long as you like what the 926 does of course. I'd also suggest looking at the PMC twenty.23, but wouldn't go any higher than that.

Get too good a speaker and you"ll be wanting to upgrade the electronics before long.

Are you able to get home demos on speakers? Room interaction is important, I selected a pair of focal 916s after extensive shop demos of 6 different speakers but when I tried the at home they sounded like they could strip paint.

That seems a well matched system to me. I'm a fan of Focal speakers, though I'd agree with others that you should demo them to be sure.

One further thought. Putting a NAPSC on the 202 would be a good idea and a relatively inexpensive one.

Nothing wrong with that combo - though of course try other and trust your ears.

I run Chorus 826W UK edition... probably the closest you'll get to the Aria 926. Same size, same configuration, the major difference being the Flax cone which is cheaper to make than the W cone in the Chorus speakers that I have. That said, I've heard a pair of Arias and they're damn close to the 800W series.

Anyway, I use them (as you'll see from my profile) on an 82/2xHiCap/Chrome Bumper Nap250.

I've run these speakers through various upgrades in the amplification chain, they have always shown me the differences, right up to where I am now.

Even after stabilising at my current amp combo, they continue to be capable not only of showing the various upgrades to my vinyl front-end (LP12/Ittok/Delos/ Cirkus/Karmen/Plateau/Mose/TKable/sKale/Superline/Supercap/HiLine/AirplugZ), but also shows the mortally embarrassing difference between the vinyl and my aging Karik III for CD replay.

Would I move to Electras? Yes. But largely because I know that other than Supercapping my 82, any other change will be an order of magnitude more money than moving to a shiny pair of 1028be.

In the meantime, a pair of Arias on a 202/200 is not only a recipe for a great sound, but also a pair of speakers that won't be found wanting until you've made some serious investment into sources and amp over and above what you currently propose.

As long as you like the sound, that's the key thing!

Hi there.

I havn't heard the focals, but having looked at the spec, I think they are perfectly applicable for a system like that. If you want an alternative, PMC twenty 23 is a good one for a 202/200. If you want to give your system a bit of longevity as to if you upgrade your system in the future, the PMC twenty 24's might be a better suggestion. But the focal's will do you good in fairness.

Doesn't matter what your dealer thinks, if you think it sounds good, go for them. All of our ears are different, so its difficult to say exactly what speaker to get! Trust your ears!

I have heard the Aria series several times at shows & stores & each time been rather impressed with their sound vs cost.  While I haven't given them an extensive listen, I don't think I would be too worried that they aren't up to the standards of a 202/200DR combo.  Think I would even add a HiCAP DR without much worry

I recently picked up a second hand 250DR & the previous owner was actually using a 272/250DR with a pair of Aria's (probably the 926) & don't think he had any complaints.
